So let me get this straight: those precious abled Glee kids singing over another choir is supposed to be fucking heartwarming?
You know what would happen outside of TV land, if you just started singing over another choir's performance? Nothing good, let me assure you. How fucking rude and entitled can these people be? So now treating performers with complete disrespect and undermining their efforts is 'progressive?' Fuck you, Glee.
Not to mention my disgust with the epilepsy joke.

EVERYONE is doing it...
1. My username is ______ because ______: Once upon a time I used to go online by the handle Dragonsinger (yes, from the McCaffrey novels). That was shorted by friends to D-Singer and I used that until the internet became popular and it became pretty much impossible to get that as a name. At that point, I picked up Tryslora who was an old AD&D character of mine, and later an NPC in a game I ran online for like ten years. Yes, I'm a dork, but hey it's unique and I'm consistent!
2. My name is _____ because ______: tryslora, because I never got around to setting anything different!
3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "Tryslora in the Hall of Mirrors" because I used to describe the inside of my mind as being the Hall of Mirrors -- a place of infinite reflections, which are sort of like the voices/characters that live there. Um. Yeah, okay, I sound nutso.
4. My default userpic is ____ because ____: The Lucas Grabeel "Peachy Keen" icon I made a while back because it's a phrase I use ALL the time (and in very sarcastic ways usually). Someday I ought to get around to changing that. |

The other day, Chick and I had this conversation...
Chick: *looking up* The moon's almost full, Mom.
Me: Wednesday. December 2nd.
Chick: *looking at me quizzically* How do you know that?
Me: Lavender.
Chick: *sighing* Right. You play a werewolf. Of COURSE you know when the full moon is.
I am grateful to be able to have children who accept the voices in my head as a matter of course! I remembered this conversation this morning when I was trying to get to work because if I didn't KNOW full moon is tomorrow, I'd have guessed it was today, because OMG people driving like freakin' MANIACS out there right now. Yeesh. Honeywell Int'l almost bought me a new van! There are days when I swear my car has an invisibility shield on it because tell me, how do you MISS seeing a bright silver minivan? Really. |

I've been reading books about World War II and the Vietnam war. Not the most pleasant, upbeat or rejuvenating of subject material. I feel a little worn out.

Sometimes, it's the simple things, like finally finding a layout I like on IJ (and now I'll need to figure out how to customize it, but I'll get there). But TAG LIST. I knew it existed, I just... never managed to find one before this moment. I'm happy with this layout, stark as it is, because I see the bones. Now I just need to figure out how to add in graphics and make the colours less... intimidating and harsh on the eyes. I'll get there and life will be happy soon. But for the moment, I'm happy to have found the right bones.
If I get it figured out, this could make good bones to use for character journals eventually, too. Given that the ones I have could reeeeally use some customization. It looks like I don't love them (wrong) or don't have the time or knowledge (er, correct on both). |

Give me one or more of my characters (past or present all fair game!) and one minor character in their lives (i.e. their mother, their father, their first crush, their crazy neighbor lady, etc. etc.), and I'll tell you 5 facts AND who I'd use as a PB for said minor character.

And you wonder how you could have missed all of that seemingly standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification, because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

As of last night, I reached my ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) rpwrimo goals. The biggest challenge for me was actually reaching 30,000 words in everything but my THY stuff, and I succeeded! Of course, I went on a bit of a writing spree yesterday and wrote more words in one day than I have on any other single day this month. And it's the only day that I've gotten at least a tag or journal written in every game I'm in.
I'm glad to have met my goals because the next week and a half need to be spent on school stuff; today I need to concentrate on getting this reading done so that I can actually write the paper that I need to. And once the reading is done, I'd like to at least work up some sort of outline for my Shoah project.
I can do this. I think. |

I have created endless entertainment in my household by naming my Lego Rock Band character Draco. My daughter is mostly amused that using only Lego pieces that we've unlocked so far that I've managed to make him look a decent bit like Draco. It's really a good thing that my family is amused by me. |

Review - Jennifer's Body
Jennifer's Body is a tale of two movies, not of maintext versus subtext but two seperate movies fighting for dominance in which, ultimately, the oft-told (and tired) conventional one wins.
This basically sums up my feelings with the movie.
I enjoyed a lot of it. The actresses were very good--Megan Fox gave a lot to the character that the script didn't--and the visuals were pretty cool, but in the end it was just as disappointing as I expected it to be, if not more. That's a good review, though, without much spoilers, so if you're curious...

Not too bad! I'm not sure yet if I'll reach 30,000 at my not THY stuff, but we'll see! Either way, it's been a pretty good month, I must say.
Today I need to go have my car inspected by the insurance company and I suppose I should try to get started on homework for Monday. But for now, I've had leftovers and am watching Hercules and plan to take it easy. Hooray!
Also, thanksgiving yesterday was a lot better than I thought it would be. Except then I fell asleep far far too early last night. It made me sad. |
